From the campsite, it only takes a few steps to reach the wide sandy beach of Pors Ar Vag, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Bay of Douarnenez.
Fine sand, swimming, children’s games, sunset walks… an ideal spot for families and nature lovers alike.
In summer, the beach is lively and perfect for seaside activities: sandcastles, relaxing moments, paddleboarding or simply enjoying the water with your feet in the sand.
Water sports within walking distance
Surf, kayak, paddle…
Just two minutes from the campsite, the Pors Ar Vag Sailing Club offers lessons and equipment rental for surfing, kayaking, paddleboarding or bodyboarding, by the hour or by the day, all year round.
No car needed — you leave the campsite in your swimsuit and come back with salty hair.
Land sailing
A little further along, on the neighbouring beach, several clubs also offer introductions to land sailing in the Bay of Douarnenez, an activity available all year round.
Hiking and the GR34 directly from the campsite
Pors Ar Vag Campsite is directly bordered by the GR34, one of the most beautiful coastal paths in Brittany.
Whether for an evening walk or a longer hike during the day, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the sea, cliffs and Atlantic sunsets.
Around Plomodiern and the Bay of Douarnenez, walking enthusiasts can also choose from over 400 km of marked trails, offering a wide variety of landscapes: coastline, countryside, forests and panoramic views from Ménez Hom.

Throughout the summer, we organise simple and welcoming moments: a welcome drink to meet the team and other guests, crêpe evenings, and regular visits from a pizza food truck serving delicious pizzas on site.
Just a few minutes’ walk from the campsite, you’ll also find two restaurants and a snack bar, perfect for enjoying a seaside meal without using your car.

Shore fishing
The Bay of Pors Ar Vag is well known for shore fishing, accessible at low tide: cockles, clams and periwinkles (according to local regulations).
At high tide, surfcasting enthusiasts can cast their lines directly from the beach, in a calm and unspoilt setting — ideal at sunrise or sunset.
Mountain biking & cycling
Around the campsite, 19 signposted routes — nearly 300 km of trails — allow you to explore Plomodiern and the surrounding area by bike.
Quiet country roads, forest paths and viewpoints over the Bay of Douarnenez offer something for everyone: family rides, sporty outings or more challenging routes towards Ménez Hom.
Snorkelling in the Bay of Douarnenez
The rocky shores of Pors Ar Vag offer excellent spots for snorkelling, accessible to everyone.
Clear water, kelp forests and small fish create the perfect setting for a first introduction to the underwater world, just a few metres from the campsite.
Equipment not provided, but access is free and unrestricted.
Paragliding and hang-gliding at Ménez Hom
Just a few minutes from the campsite, Ménez Hom is one of the most renowned sites in Brittany for paragliding and hang-gliding.
From the summit, flights offer spectacular views over the Crozon Peninsula and the Bay of Douarnenez.
Introductory flights, tandem flights and training courses are available all year round through the Ménez Hom paragliding and hang-gliding school — an unforgettable experience for those who love gentle thrills and breathtaking landscapes.
